What is GRS certification?

The Global Recycle Standard is promoted by Textile Exchange, a leading international non-profit organization for responsible and sustainable development in the textile sector. This certification recognizes the importance of recycling for the growth of a sustainable production and consumption model, intending to reduce resource consumption (virgin raw materials, water, and energy) and improve the quality of recycled products.
The GRS ensures the recycled material content of products, both intermediate and finished, the maintenance of traceability throughout the production process, restrictions in the use of chemicals and compliance with environmental and social criteria at all stages of the production chain.
The Global Recycle Standard guarantees:
-Products containing at least 20% pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled material (at Kauri Store you can find items even with 90% certified recycled material !!! )
-Manufacturing activities and processes that comply with the set environmental and social requirements. We can therefore say that the goal of GRS certification is to set standards that can guarantee ethical working conditions and reduced environmental impact.
Going into the brands that hold this certification, there is Mazine German brand that uses GRS-certified recycled materials such as recycled polyester and more for its colorful and warm winter jackets.
